Our Mission
At Katy Hospice, our fundamental mission is to ensure that no one
entrusted to our care will die alone or in pain. We are
passionately committed to upholding the dignity of those people in
our care through their final life journey.
Through
experience, our professional team of caregivers at Katy Hospice
understands that a serious, debilitating and ultimately final
illness not only causes physical pain but also is a situation that
can lead to serious emotional and even spiritual anguish. We also
appreciate that a serious illness impacts not only the patient
entrusted to us for hospice support. Family members and friends are
also deeply effected when a loved one is journeying towards the end
of life.
The services offered by Katy Hospice are designed to make a
patient's final passage from life not only painless but as positive
of an experience as possible on an emotional and spiritual level.
Additionally, we provide comprehensive support to family and friends
while their loved one is with us and following that person's
passing.
Our Goals
The goals of Katy Hospice are derived from our fundamental mission
statement: That no one will ever make an end of life journey
alone. With that in mind, the specific goals that we undertake at
Katy Hospice are;
- To maintain the dignity of a person entrusted in our care
during all phases of an end of life journey.
- To provide comfort and alleviate pain for a person in the
midst of an end of life journey.
- To be a true advocate and faithful companion for a person in
our care.
- To provide a sense of hope to a person in the final stages
of life and to his or her loved ones.
- To work with each patient in undertaking closure of his or
her primary life relationships.
- To allow a patient to fully experience love and self and
love of others – to celebrate those special human connections
that enrich a patient's life.
- To provide support and reassurance as a patient works
towards a confident and hopeful surrender to the ultimate
fulfillment of his or her unique life journey.
- To provide information, support and comfort to the loved
ones of a person making a final life journey both during that
process and following its natural conclusion.
